I swear - I searched everything I could think of... What temperatures do you usually see on your water temperature? My unmodified '99 (4.0L / AW4 / NP242 w/ 112,000 miles) shows at or slightly above 210. I've verified the guage readings with a non-contact thermometer on the thermostat...

I didn't get a chance to look at the XJ today, but hopefully tomorrow - I'll look into that ground as well, I've had experience with grounding issues on Fords and they can be FUN! All responses appreciated - I will let you know what I find!

OK, I'll reconsider - do you have any photos with a wider angle? I guess I didn't mention that I'm planning on dual batteries under the hood... Can you give some details - looks like a rotary compressor?

A friend has a 95 XJ 4.0L. No gauges, just lights for Water Temp, Oil Pressure & Electrical systems. Here's the question for someone with a similar vehicle: With the engine OFF, and the ignition switch in the RUN position, should the light for the Water Temp glow? Hers doesn't, she says it...

I got the impression that the connector to be replaced on an intermittently functioning gauge cluster was a TSB or Recall. Some posts mention a redesigned part. My Chrysler dealer DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANY OF IT! Does someone have a PART NUMBER or TSB NUMBER or RECALL NUMBER - I want to...

Thanks, I will look into that... I was beginning to wonder if it had something to do with the brakes being applied when the left turn signal was on - but this makes more sense. did replacing your switch take care of the problem? Larry

Actually, this problem was noted before I installed the T-connector for the trailer wiring. Trailer wiring hasn't seemed to effect the problem. What is your theory about how trailer wiring could cause this problem? I could see a short circuit, but this???

HELP again. 99 XJ 92k miles, totally stock I have the intermittent dash electrical problem, and am getting the parts to fix it this weekend - thanks all. Additionally, I've noticed that intermittently, seems to be more with the Left Turn Indicator the rear flashers (both sides) come on...
