    Acetone will increase gas mileage?!?!?

Re: Acetone will increase MPG?!?! I have gone through one tank now on my 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi. I do mostly city driving and was getting around 10.5-11mpg normally. I put 4oz in my tank at fillup and I'm getting 12.5-13 now. Now I've added 4oz to my Jeep and we'll see how that...

    Will these WORK??!!??

I see the pic just fine. I want to say that those look really weak to me. The flat stock looks too flimsy for my tastes. Doesn't look like any clearance issues though. JMHO, Rough

    Acetone will increase gas mileage?!?!?

Re: Acetone will increase MPG?!?! I'd like to try this (I'm sure everyone here does) but one thing I haven't seen discussed is the effect on the fuel lines? Will the acetone cause them to wear out faster? Will it eat through it right away or will it be fine? TIA, Rough

what costs less???? i need help again!!!!

what year XJ are you running? I ask since the newer (97+) XJs don't handle 3+ lifts without transfer case lowering kits or SYE+ new driveshaft. A 3"+ lift may require more than what comes with those lifts you mentioned. If money is an issue then I would suggest saving a little longer and get...

    max tire 98 xj

I have a 98 XJ and the largest tires I could run, with Up-country springs, was 30x9.50x15. I had zero problems running this while on or off-road. I did try putting 31x10.50x15 on my rig a week before I got my lift parts (I was overeager) and ended up trimming the plastic finder flares just to...

    Lockers

I've run the powertrax with no noise (ie. clicking) in turns. I didn't have a choice since I have a 8.25 rear axle. Later, Rough

SYE necessary on 4.5" + BB??

I went with the RE H&T SYE, RE Driveshaft, as well as the RE 4.5" Superflex kit (full spring packs). I had no problems with any part of it. I got a great deal from a RE dealer in my local 4x4 club. Since I installed it all myself there was no labor costs! :) If you haven't talked to a...

    Hidden snorkle

I've got a '98 XJ and used the stock airbox to start with. I've done something similar and I did notice a decline in throttle response (not power). I switched from a K&N cone filter to a K&N flat filter with this mod. Mine involved ~$20 in parts from Home Depot. Check out this link if you are...

    Question about trimming fenders.....more

I chose the cut/bend method to trim my '98, 4-door. I also used sheet metal screws to hold them in place. I also cut the plastic lip off of the bottomw of the flairs themselves to help with clearance. Here's some pics of the final results...

    Gas Tank Skid Prices

I got my Mopar one for a 98 XJ when they went on clearance for $9 out the door. :) I've beat the hell out of it and no dents, just scratches....so far. Later, Rough

    Cherokee flares

Sorry that the pic didn't work. You can see all the pics here The front isn't trimmed in these pics though, just the back. Later, Rough 01

Modifying for a BIGGER oil filter...

I've been running the K&N 3001 (Fram PH8A) in mine for about 3 years and never had a problem. I have a '98 XJ BTW. Later, Rough

    Cherokee flares

I put on the RE 4.5" superflex kit and 31" tires. I had the same problem since I'm running 3.75" backspacing on my rims. I just trimmed front/cut&bent rear sheet metal and then mounted the stock flairs higher using sheet metal screws. I just ground them flat on the backside and haven't had any...

    DD Locker Comparison

I've had my no-slip in my rear axle for almost 1 year now and love it. I have a 8.25/29 spline rear. It used to be my DD until Jan and it was never a problem. I put it in myself and it made a night and day difference on the trail. If you bought a no-slip you will be happy. I also used RRO and...

    Snorkel

Not worth the money for a plastic tube. I switched from a K&N cone filter to a home made snorkel. The type that sucks air from just below the windshield. It works even when totally covered in snow (just found this out). I did suffer a mpg hit but I'm not cleaning my air filter after "every" off...
