The preload is determined by how tight you have it. So you would tighten the pinion nut snug and continue to tighten it while checking the rotating torque of the pinion with an inch pound torque wrench. Depends on what axle you have and if you're using new or used bearings what the preload...

Do it right and just lift it higher. You're going to do 2" and want 3". Then you'll have 3" and want 4.5". Goto 4.5" and 33's and be done with it. I learned the hard way cause I started with a 2" BB. I incorporated the 2" into my 3" and I'm happy sitting between 4.5 to 5".

I did, and it was a pita trying to wade through all the BS to get what I wanted. So I posted. I searched for the following under three different discussion subjects: 8.25 = too many results 8.25 27 spline = got 5 pages of results 8.25 27 29 = nothing 8.25 27 carrier = way too many results...

Can you swap the spiders and shafts from a 29 spline to a 27 spline housing or does the 27 spline model have a different carrier to?

Cal - It looks like the only way to fix that would be to extend the upper bumpstop and remove half of the hockey pucks. I'll have to see how close I am to having that same problem .....

I'm not running shims, but have a t-case drop. Once I do shims I probably won't run anything past 3*.

Yeah the 6011 works really well. A lot better than the 6013.
