89 XJ with a ZJ brake swap

89 xj non c-clip rear turdy-five. Looking to do a rear disk swap this weekend or next. I've had some people tell me even though its not a c-clip its still a straight swap, and no spacer is necessary. However when I search online it seems ill need some special spacer for the swap. Just looking...

    square stock tube doors?

You CAN bend tube and square stock without a bender, it just takes heat, muscle, wooden jigs and pactience to get it right. Its not fun but it works, very old school.

Welding frame siffeners with flux core

Take your time with the preperation, make sure the metal is bare and clean. clean-up is a bit of a pain, same as arc welding, but its very do-able. And given the situation a flux core welder will do a better job ( outside, windy enviroment) than gas.

    Welding on a new muffler

Take your time, use a lower speed on your wire, and lower the voltage. When I weld thinner metals with my hobart on flux, i'll just tack, and tack, and tack, and tack, since any concentration on the metal for more than a few seconds will cause a blow through. Give the metal time to cool also, as...

89 XJ, no fuel to injectors

Alright, my cherokee hasn't been started in the last 2 months. Been busy upgrading the cooling system to an open system, new radiator, hoses, ford taurus fan, 2000w stereo system tore the dash apart to run new wires for the speakers. And cleaned up the engine bay a lil bit. I finished clamping...

Sluggish Highway performance... (Not a BS gear thread)

Treadwrights are dreadfully heavy tires, I ran them on my KJ for a year and a half. Tough as nails and did great off road but on the road they sucked the gas down. I got a 3 mpg improvement from my 245/75/16 Guard dogs load range E, to the 265/75/16 yokohama geolander at's load range P that i...

    Closed cooling to open

gotcha, I was just going to buy a universal overflow tank and put it in the area where the airbox used to be, I'm homebrewing a intake with a heatshield so there will be room. Another question, After installing the grill and replacing the electric fan with a 99's. I noticed quite a bit of...

    Closed cooling to open

I know this has probally been beat to death. BUT... I just aquired a new 94 radiator with some other goodies today. And I'm wanting to convert the closed system to an open one. I don't have to worry about the coolant temp sensor controlling the fan since im going to be controlling the fans with...

    No voltage to radio!

i spent about an hour trying to hunt down that 5amp inline fuse, no luck. I think I'm just going to hardwire it to the battery, I'm not worried about draining the batt since its going to have dual yellowtops come summer, and I'm OCD when it comes to my vehicles. But if anyone can chime in on...

    Rocker Slider Question

Just remember when your welding the 3/16" to the sheet to concentrate on the thicker metal and try to roll it into the sheet. Practice with some first till you get the feel since its easy to blow through the sheet metal when running higher voltages.

    No voltage to radio!

It's an auto, and i checked the block to make sure nothing funny was going on. Is it possible to just hardwire it to the battery and the starter relay (whatever the terminal behind the battery that has the hot from the starter)??? I don't mind running lines, and if I have to turn the radio off...
