I am not understanding the question...a bit vague. The cars are put together in America it's just that some years have parts (such as transmissions) are put together in Mexico.
All I can say is electrical gremlins! Most German cars have that problem ranging from VW to BMW. I know for a fact that the GTI's/R32's have a coil pack problem. They blow randomly so carry spares/extras in the car with you. In the mid years (not sure the exact years) the transmissions were made...
