    I forgot to add that the axle shafts are heat-treated 1542 Alloy Steel and they do not neck down like the stock shafts... The studs are 1/2" I'm not trying to pimp my stuff, but it really is a nice axle. I wish I could have bought something like this when I did my swap... Would have saved a lot...

    Welding woes

    I hate welding to sheet/thin gauge metal, so I understand where you are coming from. MIG welding doesn't allow you to concentrate the direct the heat like TIG welding would. I would try using a whipping C motion, begin the puddle on the thicker metal then whip down to the sheet and quickly back...

    If you apply enough current in the reverse direction it will saturate meaning it won't be able stop the current from flowing backwards.

    A diode is a "check valve" for an electronic circuit. They will have a maximum amperage and a rated voltage. They require a specific amount of voltage that is required for the diode to allow current to flow through it. In most cases it's approximately 0.7 volts. They can get saturated if too...
