    Is your d30 a disconnect model ? if so it could be that the sleave that connects the axel together (when in 4wd) is cracked legthwise and slipping teath when under a load. This happen to me......

    welding on leafs?

    I'm building a custom leaf pack, The main leaf has ben worn down where an add a leaf has rubbed against it. I would say about 1/32 materail has worn away. So, I welded it and then just grinded it smooth.. Was this a bad Idea?? Is it safe? Sorry no pictures.

    Mine did not come with any of that stuff. I bought it from summit in 2001 for 399.99. It came with new coils, trackbar bracket, a add a leaf, lower control arms, and shocks, thats it.

    I lifted mine 3" with pro crap. the antiswaybars bushing rubed (squweecked) on my coils and drove me nuts........so I had to lengthen my links

    Bucky are you going to use upper ca or radius arms. If using radius arms It would be ideal to have them mount to the frame in line with the trasfer case yoke. my 2cents

    Also you could get the gears for a low pinion front, like a scout, and the gears should mesh...

    by using ring and pinion gears from a front d44 and flipping the rear axel over 180deg. When in reverese you would go in reverse and in drive you would go forward.

    could i get ring and pinion from a front d44 and install them in my xj rear d44?? Then flip it over, weld the vent hole, drill new vent, weld on new leaf perchs, shock mounts, ect. would this work? would lubrication be an issue? It would be o-so awsome to have a hp rear.

    Cheap and simple or expensive and simpler

    i'm in the maket for some control arms pref adjustable, as mine are pro-crap lowers and factory uppers.
