Been wondering the same question, Which one to get? I can get a K&N FIPK for $220 to my doorstep. Not sure about the AFE. It's my understanding that on a K&N for a '97+ XJ you can't use a TB spacer. Is this correct? And after two minutes of searching. AFE for 97-01 XJ is $215 to my door...

Okay, Ordered the Tom Woods CV and SYE. Again have a 3.5" RE with 31's. Are degree shims necessary in the rear? If so what size? All depends on the angle? Thanks

Thanks for the info! Will be measuring driveshaft and ordering CV and SYE today. The rear does sit as bit higher. I may need to adjust, what do you recommend to level it out a bit? KodiakXJ

Just installed RE 3.5" and 31" tires. Only vibration I get is between about 15 and 25 mph. Question for all. Should I try the transfer case lowering kit to eliminate vibration or go straight to the CV and SYE? Also, at higher speeds when I let off the gas, I get a growling/grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

The bumper only sells for $580. Tire carrier adds $$$ to it. You do custom work?

Another upgrade I'm planning on making other than my rear bumper issue. It seems K&N opinions are 50/50. What aftermarket FIPK kit would everyone recommend. Also, give us some good homebrew ideas, including exactly what to buy, price, instructions, or refer us to a favorite website...

Thanks for all the Replies so far! So, here's what I've some up with. I should have mentioned in my first thread I do not plan on using/adding a tire carrier (probably go roof rack mount) The other thing is I'd like one that sticks out just a little bit so I can stand on to reach the roof...

Thanks for the replies! I like all the ideas, the rear corner is what I'm worried most about. Getting something that will line up and look good is my biggest concern. Here's what I'm working with (worried about) From some of the pics I've seen, this shouldn't be a big deal. KodiakXJ

AJ appears to have capability to build a bumper I'd be looking for, to bad he on;y wants to be contacted by e-mail, and apparently, isn't replying to them.. The JCR looks good, but I'd have to modify the steel endcaps, or do they sell them as well? Where has AJ gone ???
