Your not going to gain much, but they are nice and the rocker ratio is on the money. The stock ones work its just the ratios are not very accurate. Maybe 10 HP.
Has anyone replaced the manifold with a header on a 2000 up XJ? The one with the pre-cats. I am looking at Banks the only one I know of that makes one for the 2000 up models.
There are 3 castings 741, 742 and 489. Only the 742 and 489 are worth using. As was said there is alot of aftermarket support for this rear, gears, spools, posi and locker plus axles from most all. Also mopar sells a alumium 742 center section.
I have been reading all the questions on rear axle swaps, people using ford 8.8 and dana 44. There was a post also on the dodge 9.25, has any body thought of the Chrysler 8 3/4. They are very common in older mopars and I have one from a 66 plymouth its 60 inches drum to drum 4.10 suregrip. What...
I dont want to spend 1500 per axle with new shafts gears and locker on a weak unit. Would rather spend more on a top quality axle and have it last. The 30 and 35 I have will break sooner or later, depending on use or abuse.
Im looking to upgrade both front and rear axles in my XJ, whats the best, price is not a factor. I am leaning towards the Currie 9inch but also am looking at Dynatrac 60. Anyone buy and use these, looking for feedback good or bad. Thanks
