I done this same mod about 4 months ago, and it works great. Drips a little oil out of the filter but, not much. It's worth doing to keep the oil out of the intake system. I let the little filter hang down on the driver side, so it don't drip on the engine.

Mobil 1 filter used in the Ford 5.0 is your best buy and quality. Plus it is an oversized filter for the 4.0. Just make sure your filter threads on the engine are NOT the metric type. Mopar makes an upgrade kit for this. Can't remember the years. Here is a very good write up from Madxj...

You can do the same thing manually by adjusting your transmission detent cable. Cable may be called something else, i've always heard it called "Detent Cable".

I had a code 41 also about 2 months ago. I upgraded my cables using 2/0 and 1/0 welding cable. Done the upgrade, can't remember where the write up was. I'll look for it. Anyway, i ended up getting a new alternator. That solved the problem.

I cut mine out, and then took a piece of 5" flat steel and welded it to the top of the pinch seam and angled it up to the top of where the rocker used to be. Welded all the way around the flat steel. Really beefed it up. Not to mention i have flat rocksliders with 1/2" lip sticking out from...
