Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

Ok just to update and close out this thread. After ruling out the cracked head by pulling the valve cover off. I went ahead and replaced the radiator again and thermostat for good measure. This time I drilled 2 tiny holes into the t-stat to allow for easier bleeding. Jeep seems to run right...

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

Thanks. Lets hope the drain **** works on this radiator, LOL. Thanks for the input. I have upgraded 4-hole injectors as well but I dont think it is the answer to my problems unfortunately.

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

Got it. Thanks! I guess I will drain some coolant and redo the test. I figured since the overflow was attached to the neck it was ok for testing if the car was hot. Just didn't seem like the tester would fit into the neck even if I drained. Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

I was referring to the color changing tester. I have both a radiator neck and a coolant bottle. I ran the test at the overflow bottle since there was too much coolant in the radiator neck. Fluid stayed blue and did not turn yellow. However I'm reading that the test should have been done at...

hey Ecomike, When you used the block tester, did you go from the radiator, or is using the coolant overflow ok?

Is my 0331 cracked? Pics Inside.

thanks for the input. did you have to get new manifolds? I've considered getting the 0630 head but it seems like more work than its worth.

Is my 0331 cracked? Pics Inside.

Thank you guys. Yeah I havent driven it much since it started overheating. I will probably do a block test this weekend and know for sure. The oily sheen I noticed when I flushed the coolant a few weeks ago, it hasnt come back yet but I've also only put like 40-50 miles on it if that.

Looks like either TUPY or a clearwater head. Kinda hard to find a reman TUPY, and I don't really have time to go to the yard to pull one. Leaning towards the clearwater option.

Is my 0331 cracked? Pics Inside.

Hello CF, I've been experiencing a slight overheating (http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1129291) recently and after combing through my 4 month old cooling system (new rad, new t-stat, new waterpump, new hoses etc) and giving it another flush with no avail... I took a peek under the...

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

welp... I appreciate everyones time and input. I went and poked around some more today (jeeps been parked) Poked through the oil cap, no milky residue. I honestly haven't noticed any loss of coolant either... BUT, I believe what we have here is another cracked 0331 :( Could I get another set...

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

After doing some more digging, it seems like the MOPAR HD radiator is recommended. Part number 52080104AC, priced around $300. Steep, but I will get it as long as I dont have to worry about cooling in a while. However I'm getting mixed reports on if it is a single or dual row.

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

Good to know, thank you. From what I read... CSF / Champion / AE all iffy, what should I go with then? lol. Haven't had the chance to rent the block tester yet, but I took a peek in the overflow and I didn't see anything oily this time. I've read reviews on the block tester and it seems...

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

I was under the impression that the system had to be looped by the heater core as blocking it off would cause problems on an 01? http://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/block-tester/oem-block-tester/391378_0_0/ Is this the block tester you are referring to? Seems like I can rent one locally at...

Flushed coolant, still a click above 210?

Figured as much, thanks for the input! My heatercore bypass is currently looped. After some searching it seems like the OEM Mopar unit has the best reviews, but it comes in quite hefty at $260~ I may suck it up and get the Mopar unit or a champion 2 row. I don't want to keep buying Spectras...
