    Thanks, grounds appear good and I swapped in a different battery to eliminate the possibility. What does everyone think about neutral safety switch? Could a bad NSS show similar symptoms?

    Yesterday my 1999 would not start when I tried to drive back from lunch. It acted like a dead battery. The Solenoid just click, click, click, clicked. The volt indication on my Scangage said 9.6V. I got a jump start and still click, click, click. I goofed with the two batteries' connections...

    The deckplate mod was very popular with the Tacoma crowd 5 years ago. I think you'll find that it has fallen out of favor by most. I am not a tacophile but it sounds like some have found that it actually hindered performance.

    Has anyone ever tried to use OEM wheels from a Mazda Tribute, Ford Escape or Ranger on their XJ? My research shows that these examples are 5 on 4.5 and the backspacing looks like it's within range. There is only so much that specs and measurements can tell you, I'd like to hear from somebody...
