So this topic came up and has me interested as to what other people spend.
I typically bring a bag lunch every day, but is it more common to go purchase a meal at a work cafeteria, or sub shop / fast food joint?

Be honest with yourself here, if you go spend $5 on a sub and then bring a water/soda and eat two granola bars during the day you didn't just spend $5 on lunch. :)

It varies for me but when i eat out I get a good sub for $7-8. When I bring my lunch I usually bring left-overs.

Bill, face it, nothing is cheap anymore. I would go out to lunch a lot at work, and it would be around $10 per lunch.

Go back to the 1950's...:D

fridays i usually eat free because my boss orders out

any other day is usually 5-8 bucks depending on what smells delicous at the deli across the street.

depending on who is takin care of my order I can sometimes eat free by being a flirty little devil.

brown bag, cheap as f00k.

PB&J, yogurt, and some form of chips/pretzels... i drink water. i also chip in 5 bucks a month for my office and we get a bunch of snacks that i eat once or twice a day.

maybe once every 2-3 weeks i'll get wendys.

Freebie, one of the nice things about working at a college cafeteria

I must leave the jobsite to eat... ive tried bringing lunches', no matter what, im STARVING at 3-4pm that way... (end of the day). $7 is a joke around here....

For the record, S&S sells Poland spring 3x 24 packs of 16oz bottles of water for $10.00.

So I pay $0.14 (rounded up) per water bottle.

And I'm still way over the $4 for my brown bag.

my nalgene bottle was $12 about 10 years ago when i bought it.

tap/water cooler water is free. i drink an average of 2 nalgenes per day, so in 10 years even if you drink two of those bottes a day (equiv. of my 320z nalgene) i've saved $511 over you.

BAM

Yea but how much is chemo going to cost when that Nalgene bottle gives you cancer?

Well I live in California so that says a lot about price lol but I usually go out and eat couple times a week spending about 7bucks on myself if I meet my gf double that. Sometimes I bring leftovers though but usually its fast food or a sandwhich or something

So was mine.

But the tap water here has lead in it and the union is putting up a big stink about it. So I drink it as rarely as possible.

I live less than 2 miles from work, and get 1 hour for it, so I usually go home and eat leftovers, but Ill go out at least once a week with a buddy and easilly spend $10 plus for myself at a sit down place, or if Im running errands during luch Ill get fast food and still spend $10. Its real easy to do, especially if youre like me and LIKE to eat.

I'm on the road everyday for work, and am just too lazy/busy to pack one. So, I shell out, sometimes, up to $11 bucks a day for lunch.

Please don't do the math for me, I don't want to think about it.
