So Colin,

Driving home from Ross's last weekend with your old steering box, I noticed a change in the steering. At first, it was sweet because I didn't have the wandering anymore, then I realized I know have a big deadspot in my steering, and it went back to floating around some.

I think I need to drain and refil the steering system, the fluid that was in the box didn't look extremely healthy. My pump was whining the hole way home.

You did bleed it before you drove it that night, right? And you did use ATF instead of PS fluid?

I never had a problem with that box...? :dunno:

I mean, it's not brand new by any means, but it was pretty tight.

Bled it before we drove, and even though I still had a lot of fluid in the reservoir after we switched it, I still pulled over and got PS fluid from a gas station.

I don't know, very well could just be my steering set up. I still need to check the trackbar and stuff, and maybe add a little castor.

I might try and do a crossover steering setup soon if I can't get things good.

Man, the whole event was such a good time!
Working on mine just went into super drive. I'm waiting on a call back now to order some parts as well. ;)

Worlds easiest BJ removal, it was jsut barely in there tight enough that my yelling did not remove it. Once the rain clears, I'll finish the WJ stuff up.

Yep it's a 12 hour period so I can only drive from 8 to 8...

In other news I cleverly locked my quadratrac into true 4 wheel drive with a drill and a sheetmetal screw and it works awesome. Drove to work with it and it's a noticeable differance. The steering is much better with the hubs unlocked.

part of my DW issue is that my TRE keep coming unseated. the tapers in the knuckles are getting bigger. really not sure. gonna crank them down again and put a washer under the castle nut or something.

in other news, i got the keys to my new place :D

XXXXin truck got keyed last night. time to see how well geico handles comprehensive claims tomorrow, after i go file a police report and shit tonight. guess i won't be able to have time to wrench tonight :(

drivers front and rear quarter panels, drivers door, passenger rear quarter panel. each key mark is to the bare metal, and the driver rear quarter panel mark is ~5 feet long or so. grrrrrrr

oh please, that truck has enough pinstripping on the sides from trees that it makes that scratch look like nothing. plus, its not like i sanded through the paint on both doors or anything:dunno:

Colin, thanks for the Steering box, it got me home which was all I cared about. How much did you want for it again?

I think I'm going to order a PSC box.
