Which axle is better? I 've heard both kinda suck, but is there a better one? I ask only because I'm planning to do an axle swap in the next year or so and want to keep my options open. If my cash situation is good i'll just pick up a Ford 8.8, but if its bad i'll have to gat another D35 or 8.25 that already have had the lower gearing installed( cheaper than having it done by you at a shop) :skull2:

i wont tell you which one is better but here is a chart i made up with most fo the popular axles.. and let you decide

also remember the 8.25 has 3 inch axle tubes, they are bigger than the D44 tubes that i snagged out of a waggy

8.25 is stronger than a D35 no matter the spline count.

Naturally the 29 spline 8.25 is stronger than the 35. And the 27 spline 8.25 has bigger axle tubes which makes it less prone to breakage from bending than the D35.

Thanks guys that helped alot, especially the chart. It looks like the 8.8 is a whole lot stronger than the D44, very interesting.
