Recently upgraded from 1.5 Megabits Clearwire broadband to 8.0 Megabits Charter broadband.

Last couple of days takes FOREVER to load pages.

Issues with the server? Hacker attacks? DNS attacks? Running a server with an 8088 processor and 5 1/4" floppies? :confused1

Tested speed on speedtest.net multiple times to multiple servers around the country, the problem isn't on my end.

EDIT: slow with FireFox 3.6.12; Google Chrome 8.0.552.215; IE 8 so the same poor performance across all browsers.

Well, about 7 pm Pac time Thursday took off like a scorched ape.

Instead of 60 seconds to load a page its loading them in 1-2 seconds.

More than likely, there was a saturated network hop that finally got addressed.

Next time use trace-route (tracert on Windows, traceroute on Linux/BSD/OS X) to determine which portion of the path from you to (or any other site that is going slow) is adding the most latency. Should tell you what's up, you can usually figure out whose network it is by the TLD in use, if you don't recognize it (some network operators have a separate TLD for their company site vs their network infrastructure) use whois to determine who to contact.
