Hitch install - nutstrip vs square washers

You would have to drill them larger then tap them to standard pitch. It's a goofy pitch metric and often hard to find. Most fastener shops sell them, but in bags of 25 or 50.
Yes, it's a goofy metric pitch, but it turns out to be incredibly close to a standard American coarse pitch, which is much easier to find. As I said, I can't remember but I think it's 7/16 NC. It's so close you can almost thread the bolts in without retapping. The metric bolt is a loose fit in the NC nut. In any case, when I retapped mine, I did not have to drill. The tap went through easily and salvaged the threads in holes that were otherwise too rusty to use.
