Q: Please explain the Chevy frame. Never heard about this before. Thought all XJs were unibody only. Jan-18-08
A: Hello The older Jeeps were built on a full Chevy Frame that was stock from the factory. That is why that make a good off road vehicle because of the full frame. If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask.

Some old XJ's used a Chevy V6. Not sure of the details on that.

they used the chevy 2.8 liter failure of a motor from 1984-1986. but no xj ever had a full frme under it.

Yeah. I'm the one who asked about the Chevy frame on eBay. Just figured he was full of BS and/or STUPID. So I just dropped it. Good price but way too far away for me anyway. Whatever!!!!
