well, my old springs gave up & I got new RE 3.5" rear lead spring pack. After putting them on, the jeep is a little lower than it was before (maybe 1/2-1"). The problem is now there's a thub thub as I'm driving and I think now the driveline is too long. Many years ago I had a longer regular driveline built (shutup, it was before I knew about and SYE), and I'm thinking the driveline is binding on the transfer case when I'm driving (zero play on the driveshaft). THere's maybe 1/2 left on the slip yoke sticking out of the xfer case.
So a couple questions:
Could the thumping sound be the driveline? If not, any ideas?
What's the appropriate amount of 'play' in a slip-yoke driveshaft?
Thanks in advance
