The helicam is actually a quadcopter. Probably a few hundred including the radio, esc's. Most the parts were bought from Hobbycity. It's based on the turnigy Talon frame from here:

The cool part is that Kevin's 14 year old kid built it from scratch, and did an awesome job.
As for the rock at :51, only Rick made it. Nathan took the longest, but he was on 35's.
