I was considering mounting my CB Antenna on my swingout. How's the signal for you guys that have it mounted that way? Is it a big enough ground plane?

Works pretty good for me. Not sure of range, but I haven't had any issues with it.

You'll want as much sticking up above the roof line as possible.

I've always had my CB mount on the swingout and it works good. The same rules apply as usual - needs a good ground and yes the antenna should be above the roof. The only time I have trouble with mine it seems is if the person in back of me gets right behind me. Other than that I can transmit and receive for several miles.
