DPG OffRoad has finally released their new TrailGunner line of leafs and coils for XJ's and TJ's. Dirk has been working on these springs for nearly 5 years now, tweaking the design until they work exactly like he's wanted them to and making sure they'll stand up to long term use and abuse...
Probably won't happen until later in the year, still gotta save up some more $$$. Going to be running this with 36" IROKs and 4.56 gears. basically stock 4.0/AW4 combo. Of the two XJ'ers I wheel with that have Atlas t'cases, one has a 4.3, the other has a 3.8. They both like their respective...
Dunno if this qualifies for this forum or not, but... I'm looking at adding a truss to my rear D44 when I finally get around to finishing my traction bar project, and I was wondering what size/type of material you guys would recommend? Right now I've got a piece of 1 1/4" pipe (I don't know...

Didn't look like anyone had posted about this yet...
Well, I've finally made a little progress on my traction bar project. I ended up buying axle brackets from DIY4x.com for $23 shipped. They've nice pieces.
Here's the mock-up to see how everything will fit.
The lower link is made from a section of our TJ's rollcage that we had to cut...
edit: The reason for this upgrade was that my stock box was dying, and had been on its way out since this summer. It'd gotten to the point where the Jeep was basically undriveable. So the box needed to be replaced, and for not much more $$$ than a replacement stock box, the Durango box seemed...
Here's the situation... starting back around June of this year I started noticing my steering was getting a bit stiffer, and not self-centering normally. It's progressively gotten worse to the point where I can rotate my steering wheel up to 90* left or right of center and it just stays there...
Is the B&M 70268 tranny cooler suffient if bypassing the radiator? (PS cooling too)
I know there's a similar thread about this here on the first page, but all I seem to keep finding on this subject is bits of info, and nothing really "definitive". The B&M 70268 seems to be the popular model to...
I'm going to be building a traction bar soon, and I'm debating on whether or not to truss my XJ D44 and they build the upper traction bar mount off the truss. Anyway, I was wondering what size tubing I should be looking at to build the truss with?
I guess my real concern is with the traction...
I've seen FarmerMatt's roof rack with the outboard roof sliders, but has anyone else build something similar? My roof basket is a little too narrow to work on its own, and after getting tippy with a tree on our last outing and warping up the driver's side rain gutter, I'm thinking I need some...
One (lower left) is missing a snap ring, but the bearing is still tight.
$15 for the one missing the snap ring, $20 for the one that isn't. Plus shipping (PriorityMail should be $5 or less).
All parts are there, including fittings for the shocks. Might need some new o-rings and air tubing though. Compressor and gauges worked fine when I took it out. I don't know if it will work with the new 10-way RS9000X's though, it's for the original 5-way RS9000's.
$35 shipped.

I can't remember what mag/4x4 show I first saw them at, but they look pretty slick, and I just got a press release on them, so I was wondering if anyone had tried one out yet?
They're not cheap though, retail is about $142 a pop. :gag: But, it would be...
I've been reading some info about using Wagoneer and Durango steering boxes in TJ's as a "cheap" upgrade vs ARG and PSC ($170 for a Durango box at Autozone w/lifetime warranty, vs $300+ for AGR/PSC). I tried searching on here but didn't really come up with anything on the subject. So, has...
Well, it's time to change the fluid in my tranny, and I figure the filter needs to be changed as well. I'm closing in on 100k on the ticker, and I had the tranny flushed at 60k. Still running the original filter.
Anyway, Tellico4x4 has an Omix-Ada OEM replacement filter and gasket for $23...
No, I haven't flopped my rig, but it's probably what I worry about most when wheelin'. Anyway, for future reference and slight peace of mind, what's a good way to right a flopped XJ without doing more damage? When we were in Tellico last summer one of the guys with us flopped his XJ on the...
Ok, as some of you know, I'm running the U-Turn steering kit from OffRoadOnly on my XJ. I got an early production model and they didn't have their steering stabilizer mounts ready, so I spent probably the first 6 weeks with the kit without an SS. It drove just fine though. No wobbles or...
I guess it's good that I hadn't gotten the write-up on Matt's tail lights done yet, because now I've got some "real world" testing to go along with the install write-up. We went out wheelin' this past weekend in our normal east TX stomping grounds (BMRA in Gilmer, TX for those that are familiar...
