    Recurrent brown coolant...ideas?

No oil consumption, no temperature problems (other than running a little warm when it's hot outside and the A/C is on - but when the aux. fan comes on, everything is OK).

    A/C Issue...ideas anyone?

    Near Clemmons.

    Recurrent brown coolant...ideas?

I don't add water. The level never drops. It just goes from green to brown. This is my second dealership power flush.

    A/C Issue...ideas anyone?

They said my system was really low, so they took out all the old, and filled it back up. They did a leak check with that dye stuff, but didn't find anything. Is it normal for a system to just go low after a while?

    Recurrent brown coolant...ideas?

Ok, when I bought my '01 last October, it had 58K on it. It now has 72K. When I bought it, a new radiator had been installed. About 6K miles later, the coolant looked like mud, so I had it changed. Today, I was getting my A/C recharged, and the coolant looked like mud again. I know the...

    A/C Issue...ideas anyone?

How much would most shops charge to drain/recharge the A/C?

    A/C Issue...ideas anyone?

Ok, the A/C on my '01 is now blowing out warm air in all cooling positions. The compressor comes on, but it cycles on and off a lot. The radiator fans work fine, or at least they seem to. I purchased one of those "fill it yourself" R-134a kits from the local parts store, but when I hooked it...

Question about '97+ with power seats...

Do the power seats on a '97+ model still have manual recline, or is that power too? Also, where are the power seat controls located? Thanks!

High flow cats and mufflers ,Are they worth it?

Thank you so much to all the guys on here who have compromised the effectiveness of their catalytic converters. I know that extra 1/2 HP is absolutely necessary, and that none of us really need to breathe clean air (especially our kids, and their kids, and so on...). Since it helps power so...

    comparing '89 to '00/'01

Exhaust manifold was changed to a cast design in '00 or '01, which solves the cracking problem. It also flows about as well as any header out there. The intake manifold was upgraded with equal length runners for a little more power. Interior is pretty nice. Transfer case tailshaft does...

    Eagle...UC shock application thought.

It's looking more and more like I will do the same. I love the way XJ's look with 4"+ of lift and big tires, but I'm finding out they can do a lot with stock suspension height, good shocks, and good tires. Plus, I really don't want to spend all the money to re-gear, change my rear driveshaft...

    Eagle...UC shock application thought.

Eagle, remember when I was asking you about using stock length Sensatracs with Up-Country springs? Well, last night I remembered a conversation I had with Dirk at DPG about the OME 2" lift. He suggested if I used that kit, that I use JKS bar pin eliminators to take the bar pins out of the...

    Opinions on fluid coolers...

Yes, I have the factory tranny cooler. I'm asking for opinions on engine oil and power steering fluid coolers.

    Weird rpm/speed readings...input?

I've always thought my 2001 XJ's speedo was a little off. This weekend, I drove by one of those speed trailers cops put out, and it said I was doing 51, and my speedo said 55 dead on. I also figured I would check my speedo based on rpm's. The numbers are as follows: speedo reading/expected...

Is there a way to prevent spring sag on new springs?

Eagle, Can you post a review of the Sensatracs once you try them out some? Also, can you explain some of the advantages/disadvantages of staying stock height (or upgrading to Up-Country) and stock tires (or +1") vs. going with a larger lift and tires? I'm no rock crawler, but do enjoy some...

Is there a way to prevent spring sag on new springs?

Eagle, Would OEM replacement Sensa-Tracs work with Up-Country springs, or would I need to get longer ones?

Is there a way to prevent spring sag on new springs?

I'm thinking of getting either new OEM heavy-duty springs, or new OEM UP-Country springs. I don't want them to sag, so is there anything I can do to help prevent this? Extended bumpstops perhaps?

    Opinions on fluid coolers...

I know that auto transmission coolers are fairly important, but how many of you guys are running oil and power steering fluid coolers? I know there is some benefit to using them, but I'm going to be replacing my radiator and upgrading my OEM tranny cooler (and removing from radiator circuit)...

    Manual/Automatic AWshifter

This is a really awsome idea...is there an increased risk of transmission damage using this kind of shifter?

    Manual/Automatic AWshifter

Will this work on a 2001? What kind of effect does it have on mileage?
