Yeah I did all of that today I have to replace the tie rod end, but I would like to go ahead while I'm down there and do the bushings it can't hurt they are all getting old and worn. I found that I had a lot loose down there.
I am running a 4.5 RE lift I have like alot of play in my front end left to right. I would like to know if it could be that the bushings need to be replaced? If so what type and brand is the better one to go with, and where is a good place to get them from?
I dont know if this will help but I noticed mine was leaking while I was driving and let off of the accelorator it would smoke like crazy. I looked under and oil was everywhere even on the lift gate it was the part that the oil filter screws on to. There is a seal between it and the block that...

I ran Pro-Comps M/T great tire sometimes a little cheaper than BFG's but still the same performance. I now have the Super Swamper TRXUS MT it's an awsome tire. Performs well in snow mud and street and look bad a$$.
I have a 96 with a Rubicon Express 4.5 lift with Rubicon Shocks and 33x12x15 SS TRXUS MT's So far no problems, I didn't have to regear or use a yoke eliminator. I did use a set of adjustable coil spacers for a slight rub. The lift is rated for 32 inch tires. I also have cut out flares. All in...
I have read that alot of you guys use the RED TOP OPTIMA. I was told that they did not make one for the 96 XJ with a 4.0 due to the size of the location. Does anyone use a Red Top in the stock location, and if so what is the model number?
:passgas:
I pulled out the bracket inserted one bolttried to insert the other and outlined the edge with a shapie marker. I used a die grinder and in about a hour I was done.
