    8th Annual Reno Run

I’ll be out of town again this year. But, if you guys have an emergency and need a welder again, Jon has my cell# and can get into my house, it’s just a couple miles from Prison Hill. I also have some random XJ spares floating around.

Johnny joint greaseable bolt bad idea??

I ran greaseable bolts on my XJ with no issues or complaints. It's very nice for maintenance. I bought extra of the bolts, and changed them out more often to be sure they were ok. Also, you could run a regular bolt there, then install the greaseable for maintenance time, then swap the...

URGENT: MIL light 5 hours from home

Also check the fuses. I don't remember the number, but I had one that went and kept preventing the converter from locking, shifting was otherwise normal.

What happened to the Mishimoto radiator thread?

$500 for a reliable radiator in an XJ is very reasonable IMHO. I was fed up with all the options when building my XJ, so I spent $1k and waited months for Ron Davis. Honestly it was worth the wait, and I'd do it again. Everybody being so cheap is huge negative in the XJ community, good parts...

Running ARB locker off of ac pump air compressor

I ran three different ARBs over the years off my same OBA system. It was regulated to 160psi and worked great. The ARB itself can handle tons of psi, the solenoids cannot. I ran the power tank air switches to make higher pressures ok. ARB has some info here http://blog.arbusa.com/?p=220...

    Anybody put a 4.0L in an 82 CJ7?

Personally, there is no way I'd do any amount of work to keep a T5 behind anything, especially a stroker. By the time you figure out the sensor stuff and the flywheel/clutch, you'll have an old, weak, one-off transmission. With an AX15 at least you'll have some strength to show for your...

    Rubicon Trail

Parking at the Loon Lake trailhead is easy and rarely has any issues at all. On busy weekends it can get full, but it's not bad at all. I wouldn't hesitate to park a tow rig and trailer there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Built 1999 Cherokee XJ

I had this XJ built by Dr. Smash in Carson City, NV. He did the vast majority of the work on it, and the fabrication is amazing. I intended to keep her forever, but my mom is sick, and I now have different priorities. The build is mostly new, less than 5k miles on all the major stuff, under 2k...
