I had my RMS and oil pan gasket done at a local shop about a year and a half ago (I had previously done valve cover gasket about a month prior), and they refilled it with 5W-30 and I didn't say anything ahead of time. I was right at 200,000 miles and the 5W-30 was perfectly fine, in fact I got...
Another +1 for Prime here. Ordered an OBD-II Bluetooth and a couple extra XB360 battery packs over the weekend, did the Free 2-Day shipping. Estimated arrival date was tomorrow, they are in my mailbox today and I didn't have to pay a penny extra for it. It sucks that the price has gone up a bit...
Got ball joints on the list already. Control arm bushings might be another thing that if they are still ok, I might leave them until I get it back because I'm going to want to go aftermarket with a lift and everything.
Thanks for the advice guys, like I said, I don't have it in front of me...
No, didn't get the track bar. Got the whole tie rod setup from knuckle to knuckle for the V8 ZJ upgrade. Rear shaft has new U-joints, front does not, but no vibrations at this time. Could probably do new shocks but I think that might wait until I get it back as he has no desire to lift it any...
1989 Cherokee Limited 4.0, NP242, AW4, 235/75R15 tires, BB lift (coil spacers and rear leaf shackles). Appx. 214,000 miles.
So I unfortunately have sold my XJ to a friend but we are finishing up some maintenance that it desperately needed when we decided to make the deal (terrible death wobble...
Ended up getting a 34/78 Carquest Platinum AGM battery (appears to be identical to the Autozone Platinum, might be made by the same company?). As it turns out, the old battery I had was also a Group 34 so fitment shouldn't be an issue in my Jeep when I swap vehicles for the weekend tonight after...
Yeah my Carquest basic POS finally crapped out after around 3 years or so. I'm swapping the battery back and forth right now between my car and my Jeep, but my car has a relocated battery so the size isn't too dependent on fitting it, it's the Jeep I was worried about fitting.
So a group 78 will fit? I'm looking at the Dual Terminal AZ Platinum Group 78 in that case (would be nice to have side terminals for hooking up my auxiliary fog lights.)
My battery is dead and needs replacement. I can get a good deal on Autozone batteries through my work, and am looking at going the AGM route but can't afford the $200+ on Optima's (and their quality has gone down from what I've been told). Autozone doesn't make a Group 58 AGM (OEM size), so what...
RockAuto.com, man! I'm with you, though, my rear wiper finally gave up the ghost with a dusting of snow on my rear window right at the end of winter back in April. It still works once in a great blue moon while, I can hear the motor click back there, but it won't do anything.
What do you want for that, Tuffnuttz? That's right along the lines of the size I am looking for (don't want to get into the driveline modifications right now, too much to do before winter).
Bolt on? I'm not looking to get wild and crazy with fabbing up a mega wild steering setup, just an upgrade over the OEM stuff that will hold up to some mild wheeling from time to time (more mud than anything else). I can get the ZJ parts for $200 to my door for all new MOOG pieces and bolt it...
