driving w/ no rear DS in 4x4?

i am about to install my 5.5" lift tomm and have not had the custom rear DS made yet for obvious reasons..i know guys have told me on here that you can drive in 4x4 with just the front DS like front wheel drive...but have had local buddies tell me that they have burned up their transfercase...

Just ordered my Re3.5 superflex but.

center pin for the leaves matters...its thicker for 8.25...when i put me RE kit on my old jeep they sent me leaves for the 8.25 and i had to drill my D35 perches out a little...so yeah it does matter.

    NEED to know

ok thats a good idea maybe ill do that...BUT i don't have the SYE yet and the reason for this thread was to possibly rule out this idea if it wouldn't work...therefore knowing if i need to order a new DS or not when i order the SYE...possibly saving me money.

    33x12.50 vs 33x10.50

thinner the tire...easier to flop over

    Widest Tire on Stock Wheel

i knew a couple guys that ran 35x12.50 on their stock 15x7's for a while...actually one of the guys from crawltech offroad...and when i wheeled with him he did some pretty nasty stuff...never poped a bead tho which was amazing!

    NEED to know

hey man...well no, i wouldn't want to keep the D35...but money is an issue right now...i am going to run 33's. i wish i had the money to swap another axle in but don't right now, possibly a christmas idea. was just thinking cheaper until then...from what you've told me it can go either way with...
