    ZJ problem. axle/transfercase

    the axle shaft are swappable, but is better if you swap in the whole xj D30, expecially if it's an HP. I've seen a lot of zj with problems on the front carrier usually the bearing of the pinion going bad (grinding noise) then go the ring & pinion. The ZJ d30 lp isn't the same model of xj d30...

    buy oem seal (use the code of the driver side to order), I guess you have used an intermediate right seal (Shaft Size=1.628), that has inside diameter bigger than the bearing seal (Shaft Size=1.19")...... remember to put as suggested by cal some rtv on the dremeled surface too

    zj d30 having the same brackets but is better to use one from xj donor: them are all lp most of them having cv axle shaft the pinion output is much longer, about 3/4" after '96 having on the pinion a plate for cv front driveshaft so U have to put u-joint joke if you intend to regear U can't use...

    I've done the work two weeks ago, not with the kit but OEM seal... it doesn't fit as is; on a '91 d30 axle, the right side is a bit smaller I guess the left has a light machining. I've removed the metal slide for the axle and installed just the seal, it seats perfectly without any leak.

    if U have already checked driveshaft & u-joint check your rear diff, I'd similar problem on the diesel one, the pinion nut was a bit loose so no preload and some play on the pinion, I was luky to discover it before destroy my 4.11.....

    Limeted slip in the front?

    yes all problems not relate to the aussie... Any kind of auto locker in front create driving problems in 4x4 full time I confirm that the quality of aussie is better then lockright (I've used also this) I'd my previous XJ td with the 231 aussie on both axle and work pretty good
