I didn't even think of OnStar. I believe OnStar is hard wired to the cars computer. It sends the info to GM through a cell signal.

No. You would still need a "dongle" to read the OBDII and send the info out. There is no car manufacturer that I know of that has set up their cars to send out diagnostics through bluetooth.
Edit: I work for Mercedes, maybe I can pitch the idea to them :idea:
A lot of the smartphones have OBDII dongle applications you can download. Pretty sweet being able to monitor everything your vehicle is doing from you phone out on the trail.
Why try to bring a thread down? Instead of being that negative nancy, do something positive. Write a letter, purchase a membership. Support your trails. Support your clubs that support the trails. Do something positive. If you can't, leave. You are not needed and you are not wanted.
Seeing as I live in Sonoma, I think I'll show up in my NAXJA shirt. Saturday or Sunday. If you don't mind a couch and a 5 month old kid, I could probably let someone stay the night if need be.
Long threaded rod, couple washers and nuts should do the trick. Here is a link with pics and info. I did this when I went to a one piece axle shaft. Good luck!
