Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Should be more than adequate....... probably overkill but looks super simple and solid.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Well. Lawyers basically said the state is suable. And my case sounds easy to prove.
However.
It's the state and with the way things work,( read: state set itself up for success via clauses of immunity and extent of accountability.) it would cost me more than I stand to potentially make. So no one wants to touch it.
News says no foul play albeit a very crappy situation.

So I'm just sol on it all.
Anyone looking for a parts rig or fixer/wheeler??

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ive still got the 87 I was going to fix up and sell. I'll make you the same deal we'd previously discussed if you want it. I bet any parts you do need you could strip from the one CSP wrecked.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Don't need the jeep at this point. No use in having it. And now that I'm in the patch, nontime to fix it.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Don't plan on doing anything fancy to my suspension until Fall , but still needed to properly set up the current coil and shock set up with at least good bumps and limits , So I bought 10 inch prothane coil inserts for front and rear and some straps , and that cheap stuff still cost over $300 . I was going to buy an Antirock , but if go ORI that will not get reused . After installing a center rear limit and having my rear shocks back on there is no real body roll and the front flexes unlike at the Naxja meet and greet with no rear shocks or limit the rear would do a ton of work and big body roll ...lol...now it feels flat and stable even when it's not ...this plus the current wheel track of 94 inches and 116 wheelbase is going make it hard to flop . If it works well enough coil and shocks I may do a set of sway bars and good shocks and call it good since this rig will never go fast .

Sounds like you are making good progress.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Still got that 231 sitting on my trailer .
Somehow we'll get together. I hope to have a M&G coupled with a group injector cleaning session soon.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

My daughter, now in CS, just discovered that her new to her 1989 has no roof rack. God forbid, This is just not acceptable, LOL. I found the GM Jack nuts (1) for installing the OEM jeep roof racks, but she will need the complete OEM roof rack set up and SS bolts from a junker and I think the newer jeeps have different, possibly better racks, but do they work on renix jeep roofs? I have an 89 in my shop I could rob if needed, but I would rather not do that, unless I strip and junk her.

I am guessing some of you have spare racks laying around from time to time?

(1) http://www.thefastenerwarehouse.com/catalog/item/570438/5979747.htm

So far, knock on wood, she has been driving short trips only to work and back, and has had nothing fail completely on this jeep. RMS has not leaked again yet. The issues I posted here recently still need some expert check ups on sooner or later. She has been swamped with work for now, a good thing since she just moved there in Jan.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Ordered Two 3/8th push lock to an-6 adapters and some hose and Two straight an-6 fittings to convert and extend my hard line to my raised fuel tank since the OE line reached but I was not happy with how it fit . Now after seeing how easy these an fittings go together I Will need to redo my cooler lines with them since they look much better than the NPT stuff I used .

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I must say I'm looking forward to sleeping again.

Worked until ~3AM this morning to wrap most everything up on the buggy. I just need to clamp the fire extinguishers in, give it a quick bath, and it's ready to load on the trailer.

I still however, need to:

- Pack the truck
- Pack up Spares/Fluids
- Pack clothes
- Figure out food

If I can leave by 7pm today I'll take it. I'll see if I can't leave work a bit earlier.

That should put me in around 3AM into Moab. But, in reality I'll probably pull over somewhere on the Western Slope Side and catch a few hours of sleep, and then roll straight to Area BFE.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I have cross bars for sure off of a '92, I'll double check if I still have the rails hanging around.

The 92 rails were the same as the 85-90 rails right? I need to check the rolled jeep (freeway rear ended and rolled at freeway speeds, its a mess) I am going to salvage parts on.... and see if the part that bolts to the roof survived. I know the cross rails did not.

Yeah, as far as most of the body styling was the same up through 95 or 96 for sure.

The rails and cross bars are different; that is one of the quick and easy IDs when I'm hunting RENIX parts. :)

Do you have a problem with the rack systems that clamp to the drip rails?

Thanks, so this 89 never had a roof rack or rail set up. She has a virgin roof, LOL. So will the 91-95/96 and the 97 up rail systems mount on a virgin Renix roof?

I do not know if this one has chrome trim on the drip rails like my Wagoneer and ??? do, and I worry about doing anything to the drip rails that would damage paint and start the drip rails rusting.

But I am open to discussion.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I have a Thule roof rack on my 98 I'm going to be selling. It's 2 Cross bars, 2 ski clamps, and the front wind deflector. Comes with keys for the locking rain gutter clamps and ski clamps.
