We must bring absolutely no knowledge of mechanics to the table if we don't pay for this forum....

This kind of behavior sets a bad example for the rest of the paying members, and this forum. There are many paying members that do not act this way, and are extremely helpful to ANY user, paying or not paying.

We're all Jeep enthusiasts, we're supposed to help one and other in any way possible.. If we stray from these beliefs, we're no different than a private club that doesn't allow members unless they meet certain criteria.

That just makes my blood boil...

Like I said prepmech, I would love to be a member, but I live in northern Iowa. My xj is sweet, but a D.D. , can't risk driving 4 or 5 hours and hope it don't break, than try how to get home. I don't think just cause your not a MEMBER you have nothing to add. I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and would love to be part of you gatherings, but just to far. Just cause your not a member don't mean we can't add to our own experiences. Granted you do get the noobies that don't know how to search, but we all been there.

What I meant by that statement was, that it would make no different than a high end country club that doesn't allow members to join unless they make at least six figure salaries.

Being all high and mighty because you pay for this forum is uncalled for, and not needed.

It really makes me want to join up when there's all the non-member bashing going on... Not to mention the fact that there's only 1 other person that lives in my town that even looks at this site.... Maybe him and I can start our own chapter of Naxja! We could sanction official runs for the two of us!

You guys are missing Nate's point.

Nate ('87manche) who is a member was insulted by GermanXJ who is a guest.

Nate has paid a membership due to support this forum, and allow it to be used by guests like you.

For a guest to come onto the forums and insult a member is very rude.

But what kind of example are the paying members setting for the non-paying users?

You're supposed to give them encouragement to join the forum, not discourage them by flaming them to any extent necessary to make the member feel like more of a man.

I'm not seeing the point of the flaming here.. I've seen it far too much lately, and its frankly getting out of hand..

So in closing, encourage the forum users to pay for a membership, and do not bash them because they haven't.
