XJ Ultimate SUPERSTORE - accepting parts requests

I'll be hitting this place up first thing tomorrow morning, pulling a few parts, taking some pics and getting quotes.

also in reference to the following...

Whoa!!!
I am looking for a working A/C selector switch in excellent condition to fit an 85 XJ, 2.5 ltr, 4WD, Stick (5spd).
Also looking for a biege center console in excellent condition to fit same specs, vacuum assembly, tailgate, front driver seatbelt or all front, maybe more.
wont the switch fit a few years regardless of engine or tranny ?

im just messing with you but by your misspelled "biege" do you mean tan or gray interior ? because by definition Beige is " light grayish brown or yellowish brown to grayish yellow."

any factory a/c delete pulleys over there?
i'll be looking for this

Are there any first gen s-10's there? If so I need a good condition working tailgate and some door and window seals in good condition.
yeah i think there was a few, the tailgate is gonna be like $50, what color you looking for ? shipping would be killer though, you seriously want one ?

Mostly just need the handle, guts and latching mechanism. Mines bad I have a tailgate but the innards don't work. Don't care about the color of the handle just how it operates if there are any that operate smoothly I would be interested. I also need the door seals and window seals for the door windows if they are in good condition. I don't have a vent window they are full windows.

OK, Give me a break! I know what you are saying. I used to specify Tan & indeed have some tan parts in the Jeep now. However, I discovered that the Tan is a slightly more Brown color, perhaps more Red in it than what I had originally so I figured it must be Beige which is a lighter & as you indicated more yelowish color. I think my driver seat belt is actually Tan as I replaced it some time ago & the passenger is still the original lighter color as noted for the console. Regarding the switch. I understand that to make an exact match the 85 will only take an 84 (mine was a very early 85), an 85, & some 86's. I understand the wiring is different & if you use a different year you have to figure out all the wiring & change the connector. That is what I have been told. Otherwise, they are very close with only very subtle differences until they made the big change what 93 0r 97 something like that.
Thanks

I want one, but you are right. Shipping is the killer. Thus far everything I have located has had a ridiculous price for shipping & I am no were near Ft. Campbell. I sure do wish I was for this anyway. Thus far I haven't found anything reasonable on the shipping, so unless I do the tailgate is needed, but a toughy. Mine is that Beige color with hand painted Gold pinstripes. I don't expect to find that so I suppose a lighter color would be the next best bet.

Your going to have to get the whole tail gate.

Bosco and I went up there on Friday. I was depressed seeing all those perfectly good Jeeps. We wanted the 4.10 gear from the 86 XJ. He told us we had to buy the whole axle.

We left with nothing and went to PAP in Nashville.

yeah theres a few ZJ skids, they are alot of work and some are being stubborn, but i do plan on grabbing a few

You might look under the Postal...If I remember correctly, the Postal TJ came with a D44 rear...and other HD options...I think the alternator and cooling...I wonder in the XJ is the same. I had a buddy buy a postal TJ to wheel...mostly because of the HD options.:viking:
So where is the C4C yard near Birmingham???

What year model was the Jeep with the dash view, tan interior, Auto, 2WD. It looks like a newer model than 85. I don't think the console will work as it is setup for 2WD & Auto. I don't think I could even rig my inserts up in it & make it work, but if anyone can enlighten me please do.

i'd like to have the bracketry for the high mount alternator... that would be very cool to have. did it have the a/c compressor mounted under it?
look at the belt diagram, the a/c compressor was mounted on the Left side of the engine under the PS pump, kinda nifty, it had long hoses for everything because the heater core was on the left side of the vehicle, note the long heater hoses, and booster hose is like 5' long and runs along the firewall

as you can see here the alternator is the belt adjustment point

and heres the a/c compressor hiding under the ps pump

that is cool but i think it'll be a pain in the ass to try to convert mine to that. if the a/c just went under the alternator, that would be ideal. i don't wanna move my a/c to the other side of the motor, just because of all the hose issues...
