XJ Steering Wheel

Does anyone know if i could put a new jeep steering wheel (like the one in the link) in my 99 XJ?
Or am i stupid for even thinking this?

Anything is possible but none of those buttons would work without significant work and hardware to accept their inputs. Crutchfield does/did make adapters so you could make them work with aftermarket stereos but I wouldn't know how to get the wiring out without using the whole column

In a way Dan is correct, You will just need to buy or build an adapter.
