XJ is Gone ... TJ is Replacement...

Never will I own a KJ. I wouldn't mind a NEW Liberty, w/e Jeep is calling them, but they look kinda like new Cherokee's :)

That would be the KK.

Nice lookin TJ.....I'll admit it was a toss up between an XJ and a TJ a few years ago....but at the time I was thinking ahead to college and moving in and out of dorms...hard to fit a lot of stuff in a TJ....XJ was much more practical for my needs (and has served well).

Atleast you got a 4.0....my roommate has a 99 TJ with the 2.5....the motor hasn't given him much grief, but it just doesn't qutie compare to the 4.0.

ya same here... kinda lame now.:(

It sucks, but oh well. Forums come and go. Some grow big (like NAXJA) and stay around for a while. Others just pop up, fizzle a little bit, then move on. I met a lot of good Jeep friends, though, over there. It was a great forum.

Thanks. I agree with the cargo space. I forgot how much it sucked not to have a few feet of storage back there! I want an LJ now lol. I am going to buy one of these:

If I need it. I don't see why I wouldn't need it.

I was going to get a 2.5L, as my price range was very low for a TJ. But, I ended up getting this one with higher miles, but still 40,000 miles less than my XJ had lol. I love the 4.0L! I know I can do an engine swap if it comes to that, and would be quite happy. I blew the engine on my first XJ (my red one), trans too. Grabbed a used 4.0L for $450 with 55k miles on it, out of a '93. Got an '01 NV3500 for $500 with 75k miles on it. Did the swap. And never had a problem with those components after that. And my buddy Jon (rednckboarder) has it now and I still don't think he's had any issues with the trans/engine. So 24 hours of work & $900 to do an engine/trans swap that gives you years of reliability.. completely worth it! If my trans goes, I'll be looking at the NSG370 (6 speed), NV4500, or NV3550 again. ;-)

A friend of mine has one of those that he's put on the back of his 06 4Runner to haul stuff...i'm amazed at what it can handle...pretty much anything that he's needed to haul that was too dirty to put inside the 4Runner.

I use one from time to time. But mine looks far less sturdy and wobbles in the hitch. Works GREAT for a cooler while camping. You could also make some kind of an extension and back up to the fire and have a grill :D

Yes That the purpose of the extension..........Duh jk (hope nobody tries to use that as a grill on their rig. I feel like an ass if their rig burned to the ground)

Yes, it sure does wobble quite a bit with anything of decent size on it. I think he got his from Harbor Freight but i'm not sure.

I was behind my buddy in his ZJ all the way from PA to the OBX (8 hours). He had one of these on his ZJ with a cooler, a big chest, and some other gear. Every sharp turn he'd take I thought the gear was going to fly off, it got worse the closer to the OBX we got. BUT, it made it no problem. I think someone should design one that has posts on each end that kind of rest against the bottom or top of the hitch. This way it won't lean around turns. Hmm.. May I will call one of our carrier vendors on Monday and run it past them.

just make up some quick sway control device out of like nylon rope or sumthin tie it to each corner then to the bumper or roof rack and make it nice n tight
