My brother-in-law has a xj dana 44 for sale (3.55 gears & stock trac-lock limited slip)complete for $400 in Sacramento, CA. It is out of a 87' xj limited with 110K miles. I had it pulled from a salvage yard in Sac about 6 months ago, but my brother-in-law, Nate, bought the ford 9" from Lee, so this 1 has to go. Let me know.

The brakes and everything are there. It's a complete axle ready to bolt into you xj.
 
Get rid of your weak stock dana 35 or 27 spline 8.25 with this bolt in beauty. :D

Low mileage with track lock limited slip and 3.55 gears.

I prefer to sell locally 1st. There is someone driving down from Bakersfield to Sac to pick it up this coming weekend. I'll let you know if it is still available.

The guy came down from Bakersfield to pick up the xj dana 44 today. I know I saw another 1 at the salvage yard I got it from. It's at James Autowreckers in Antelope (outside Sac). You should be able to get it for $250-300. Go the the yard when they are open and check for yourself. The people that work there don't know what they have and I tried to play it off like it was a dana 35, but they knew it was a dana 44 when they pulled it. Here is my post back in August about the find:

Per my post from 2-3 months ago: there is still 1 more dana 44 axle in a dark red burgandy 87' laredo at James Autowreckers off of Antelope Rd next to the train tracks. It has 160K miles, auto with 3.54 gears, looks to be in good shape eventhough the xj looks like it was in a rollover. This is the 1 I saw on 2 other occasions within a year period or so that I've been going to that yard. Ask for Brad and tell him the Big guy sent you. I told him I'm in the cherokee club and people should be coming his way soon. You should be able to get it for $250-300 if you play Brad right. He made me go looking around the yard for another dana 44 xj before he would pull the 1 for Nate because he just got it in and it still had the engine in it. I was to see the dana 44 in a very clean xj limited as I came into the yard, both dana 44's have limited slips in them too. Get it quick, I want to see this in 1 of my xj bros rigs and not in this yard anymore, come on guys 1 of you wants 1. Cannot beat the price. Yes that's right at James autowreckers in Antelope off Antelope rd 2 bone yards down from J&W who want $850 for a dana 44 xj axle in there yard less than 100 yards away!!! Jeep is in the right fenced yard when you come into the place behind the parking lot fence. Sorry for the long post, but I hope to make someone really

Yeah, that was me. I spend my time on the internet between this and the Pirate site. Glad you like it. Want to go wheeling sometime?
 
oh yeah I am getting ready for a snow run. sold my tires and rims on here, so now I have some extra change for spare parts. seems kinda funny spending money on spare parts that you might not ever need but sure is nice to have them when there is carnage, I am thinking about buying a welder off pirate and seeing if your budy still has this d44, I am out in elk grove but wheel with a group of people out in roseville 3 toyotas, 3 jeeps, and 1 bronco. So on are next run I will get in touch with ya.

Are you going to get that dana 44? I saw it there for about a year now, I cannot believe nobody has picked it up. I'd like to go wheeling with your group let me know when you are going next.

as soon as we get one going I will jump on here and let ya know. 2 of the toyotas are being built into truggys right now. So it might be awhile.
