I hear you. Any idea what the loaded weight and GVWR of those two trailers were RCP? And the widths? I'm looking at a trailer between 14' and 16'. Width between 95" and 102". Either trailer has a GVWR of 7000lbs, and I'm maxing out at 5,000lbs. Hopefully that gap means better stopping power...
The little trailer was right about at it's max and the jeeps max of 5k and it was a narrow body only 84". It was designed to be towed by a 6 cylinder truck or SUV. I didn't even need to use mirror extenders. The big one with the Wrangler on it was probably 7k that day. It would haul and licensed for 10k. I only ever used it a couple times behind my XJ and only for short trips of 20 miles or less before I sold it. It was 98" from outside to outside of the fenders.
A 102" wide trailers pretty wide for an XJ, I don't even know if the extenda mirrors would work with one. Plus a toy hauler does have an open floor plan. so the 95" one going to seem big inside compared to a regular RV, unless you need the width for your load.
