Well, I just purchased my third XJ yesterday. It's a 98 classic with a 5.5'' RE lift and 285/75r16 Mtr's. It only has 93k miles on it. :) i bought it off a jeepforum member up in iowa. i flew up yesterday morning and started the long 15 hour drive home yesterday around 2pm. I'm currently at a Panera bread in Charleston, WV. I've got about 4 hours left till i'm home, but i'm super excited to get this jeep. It's very clean and the body is rust free. there's some surface rust on some of the suspension parts and axles, but i'll be cleaning that up and painting everything in the next couple weeks to make it nice and clean under there. It's a super clean jeep overall. The RE lift rides great compared to other XJ's i've driven. My last xj was a 99 classic with a 3'' home brew lift, and this one rides so much nicer, even with bigger tires and more lift. I'm very impressed so far. Anyways, here's a quick picture. i'll get some more once i get home and get it cleaned up.

my only real plans are to clean it up really good(its filthy from 10 hours of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana farmland driving) and swap the mickey thompson wheels out for a set of used Moabs.

Wow, that is a nice XJ. Congrats on your new ride.

I like the look of the MT wheels but Moabs are cool too.

Gratz, good looking jeep. I wish mine was red.

That's a sharp looking ride.

Congrats on the new ride! Kinda funny - I flew to Chicago to buy my '98 Sport, and drove it back probably the same looooong way. That is a very very boring ride. Especially if you, like me, forgot to bring any music source and had to depend on the radio. :-O

If you want to sell those rims, I'd be interested - PM me.

I know that feeling all too well. I drove the entire first day with the radio on scan. i brought my ipod, but had no way to connect it, and i brought no cds with me. when i got up to leave on the second day, i was leaning over the passenger's seat putting my wallet and other things in the center console when I saw it. It was a beautiful 1/4'' stereo plug for my ipod!!! I was so happy to have music the second leg of my 16 hour drive.
