XJ 231 21 and 23 spline years? looking for a 21 spline

Looking for a 21 spline 231, but having a hard time finding one locally that is not attached to a full rig

My XJ is an 88, with an Atlas 21 spline input. Jes mentioned renix engines came with the 21 spline and later 23 spline. Are the 21 spline same input length?

So some info found out so far:

87-91 are Renix engines running 231's with 21 splines

An easy way to identify renix years is the closed cooling system (no radiator cap on the radiator) you can be 92% sure it’s 21 spline.


So ended up finding a complete running XJ with RE long arms, the 231 I want and locked axles (44 rear) for about $500

Find a 231 with a 23 spline input shaft and I will trade you a 21 spline input shaft for you 23 spline or $20.
