I am in need of getting a hold of Dave. I need his CB tuning help......All my grounds are good. No cross in the cable. No tight loops in the cable slack. Just redid the ground on the mount just to be safe so it is better than before. My power for my radio goes right to my batteries as does the ground. He was able to tune Rich's set up which is exactly like mine but with a different radio. On the SWR meter it reads between 5 and 10 and that is on channel 1 and 40 and all in between. I tested the cable with my meter and it has no cross connection between the center pin and the outside(threaded) part of the connector. The mount has no cross connection. I am lost here. The last thing I can think of is it is my radio. It it a few years old and has seam alot of dust and heat. So needless to say I need insight here. Oh and my mount is on a Thule cross bar, the mount is grounded by a 10g wire to the back of the Jeep right by the lift gate hinges.

OK just ruled out the radio. I wired a plug to RMS692's and plugged his radio into my Jeep. NO difference. I am at a big loss here at what to do next.

When you guys get this figured out can you post up the solution? My CB is all sorts of unreliable and I'd like to figure it out. I'm suspicious of my grounds but then again, mine worked at the beginning of our chiaspeed but then it just quit. I'm thinking it might get warmed up and then quit.
