WTB stock fender flares

Soon as I get rear TJ flares, mine will be available off my 98. If you wanted to trade it could happen a lot sooner... but otherwise it might not be until after New Year's.

Likely you'll have to weld in new studs though.

How much are you lookin to get for them? Are you talking about all 4 flares? I can't really trade because right now i have none on there.

I meant trade for rear TJ flares... I dunno if you can get em from a junkyard or something... long as they aren't faded, I'd be happy.

I actually ordered a set of rear flares that I'lll be putting on the rear of the XJ as soon as they come in (looks like next week). The fronts won't get done till next year, unless a set of flares is dropped in my lap before then.

Here's what I was thinking now... I get the rears done, and swap you my stock rears for a set of TJ rears (normal TJ, not sahara or rubicon), then I get my fronts done, and give you the fronts. You get 4 flares for the price of two.

Like I said though, on all but the rear passenger side, I bet you would have to weld new studs onto it. I had the rear passenger side off, and replaced exery stud cause they all snapped upon removal. Yes, I did spray with PB blaster first. Just wanna make sure you are good with welding new studs into it.

studs? when i took mine off, they just had a screw that went into a metal strip on the edge of the fender. did yours have that?

Mine is like a wheel stud, but in miniature. They stick out from the metal retaining clip and goes through holes in the fender. They are then held on by a nut on the back side of the fender.

ahh ok, i think thats how mine were, a nut on the inside of the fender. It's been almost 2 years since they came off, so i forgot how they attached i guess. I just didnt remember the studs being welded or attached anywhere.

remeber the metal strips that kinda clamp the fenders on?

the studs that go through them, and get the nut inside the fenderwell are spot welded to that metal strip.

In my particular case, with the 98, I don't think any of those nuts are coming out without shearing the studs off... not a huge deal, if you've got a welder.

I don't have a welder but i know people who could do it for me, so its not that big of a deal. Let me know when you get the TJ flares. I'm not in a big hurry to get it done, so whenever you get around to doing them, send me a PM.
