wow that sounds high. maybe i'm just a tight a$$. i just picked up a 99 250XLT SD Ex cab, auto, 2WD for $8k. Course it does have 103K on it, but it is in super good shape.

yeah i forgot to add that. its a PSD

took it for a test drive today. i'm not all that impressed with it off the line. my 7.3L non-tubro pulls harder, but once the turbo spools up you can definately feel the difference. 4WD doesnt want to disengaged and they are looking at it. I put a $500 deposit on it and I'm 99% sure i'm picking it up on saturday morning.

no, it's the 5.4L. although the 7.3 would have been nice for sure, but not necessary for what I need. it's not my DD either btw...

For get the dodge crap go with the Ford.... Now if you can stand it and you want a really good rig...GM has the Detroit diesel with the Allison transmission. I know farmers pulling grain wagons with these babies, not to mention cattle trailors to the sale barn, but these are BEEF! To bad Ford didnt snag onto that Allison transmission. Im a Ford man myself when it comes to full size pick-ups, but dont get me wrong, I havent seen a super duty yet that couldnt hold its own. Most guys I know that ended up buying Dodge(because of looks) are sorry they own them now, and some ,who bit the bullet , traded them off.

Actually, the Duramax is an Isuzu design. The earlier 6.2/6.5 is a Detroit Diesel. I have one in my Suburban, it is a money pit.
