those ones dont allow as much tire clearance as the bulge ones - one good smack with the tire will break the mounting tabs off glass fenders . you might as well just keep your steel fenders and cut em, then put big flares on em. you'll end up lighter and stronger that way.

Have you ever owned a sett of glass fenders??? There is no way that steel fenders cut out with a large bushwhacker style flare will be lighter then these..These look like they will provide plenty of clearance to me.

I just reread your posts. It sounds like you do own a set of glass... why would you say then that he would be better of cutting his steel???
 
i have 6" bulge fenders on my rig right now and they are heavier than my cut steel fenders. they didnt have flares on them tho.

im not trying to say he'd be better off i just dont like the molded flare type thats all. just my opinion. by all means if you like the flares go for it.
