Ok so I just picked up the 4.7 01-05 power steering pump from the junkyard to go on my 97 with the 4.0. I know you have to swap over the fitting for the high pressure line from the XJ pump. What else should I know about this swap?

how so?

line pressure? flow?

I am unsure of the specifics of the differences but I have read how people have swapped them in and had good results. Remember the WJ is heavier with that 4.7 along with the fact that 01-04 4.7 WJs have a hydraulic cooling fan run off of the powersteering pump. My guess based on that is that it flows more volume but I'm not a hydraulic pump expert by any means.

I hate to be that guy, but.... search.

Swap the high pressure fitting and plug the extra output line.

I did search and didn't find much comprehensive information. If you read the original post I did address the fact that I know to replace the high pressure fitting with my XJ original fitting from the original pump. Some say to drill it out and some don't. But there isn't enough complete information out there. I also know to plug the other fitting on the reservoir. Just trying to find some more detailed first hand experience. I searched here and googled the crap out of it and don't find too much information.
