Wife's WJ needs an exhaust, figure we have quite a few WJ owners here..

Y pipe has a pinhole where the 02 wire clips on, i think i can tack weld that closed as i dont wanna buy a Cali emissions replacement.

Checked Rockauto and they have a Walker setup, and IRO has a fully welded "Flowmaster type" muffler and mandrel tailpipe for a few bucks less. Anyone have the IRO and find it too loud for a stock DD?

Or should i look at something else?

Not on the WJ, but my XJ had a Flowmaster 40 and it was annoying as all getout. Droned badly, especially at 1700 RPM. I wouldn't get a flowmaster or "flowmaster type" exhaust. Hell, they don't even flow very well.
Magnaflow sounds better inside the cabin & frees up more power.
I would look for the local muffler shop that has the highest concentration of hotrods and tell him what you want, let the man pick it out & build it for you.

[email protected]. He specializes in ZJ and WJ parts. Go with magnaflow. He offers a mandrel bend cat back. I have one on the ZJ 5.2L and it sounds great. Windows up and you hear a slight rumble. Windows down and it sounds good. Not too loud. What ever you do, do not go with a Walker. Its a too small kinked up pos.

$600+ for a Magnaflow catback.. dont want to spend that much on this Jeep.

I'll look around a bit more.. I ran Dynomax on the XJ last and it seemed fine for 4-5 years on the XJ. Didnt drone like the FM i had prior.

Find a good local exhaust shop with a mandrel bender. Pick a muffler and have them make you what you want. Should not cost half of what most catbacks cost.

Running Dynomax muffler on mine with stock tailpipe, sounds great, not to loud.

I had the Dynomax on my XJ and didnt mind it. I believe i ran it for 4 years before needing replacement. I did end up ordering their Super Turbo catback, arrived yesterday.

$187 delivered. Summit Racing had it listed, had a local vendor (Quadratec) price match.
