Window Tint

My '97 XJ came with the factory dark tint in the back. I would like to tint the front windows.

Does anyone know what tint is the best matching? Would it be 20%?? Or would it be closer to 5%?

I dunno but I wish I could tint my front windows at all- VA auto laws suck

Yeah, I would like to know that too. Lighter would be okay, darker would mean I would have to go ahead and double tint the rear windows.

Lighter...Even with 5% your not going to see in the front of the vehicle with the rest of the windows tinted. I would only go 5% in the front windows so you can still see clearly out of them at night. I used to tint the rear window and rear side windows at 20% and the front side windows at 5% and the whole vehicle was dark.

When I had mine done I asked the guy what factory was and he said 13%. If your doing it yourself 20% and 5% are most common to find. 20% will be on the lighter side and 5% will be a tiny bit on the darker side. I had my parents xj done at the same time but they wanted to be legal for this state, so I got 35%, which still looks better then the stock glass.
