Kia dealer told my friend that it was normal to get 13mpg in her optima.

maybe if you pour gas out the window while you are driving...

Anyways, my Dad took his TJ to have some new wheels put on, only to find that the tirebarn had cracked the heads off of two of the lugs...
idiots + impact wrenches = disaster

I'd like to see some of you hobbyist's work twelve hours straight and do oil changes and then some on 90+ cars a day and not ever make a mistake.

Mistakes happen but thats no excuse for a company that is constantly ripping people off. I'm glad to hear that your store seems to be pretty honest though.

oh...........................nominated!

Way back, I took my escort for a coolant flush.

On the way home, I used the washer fluid and it was green.

When I took it back, they told me they filled up the reservoir because it didn't have a cap and they didn't know what it was for.

?huh? I can't speak for all of the stores out there, but I just don't see how that is even an intelligent business practice. "Lets rip off our customers so they don't come back."

I feel bad for people that've been ripped, but jiffy, t'aint the only mechanics doin it. I ended up w/ an 03 Mercedes sl500 ("inherited") for a while and when I took it in to the dealership for a new key. they tried to get me for about 4K worth of work. oil pan gasket, control arm bushings motor mounts, and some other crap. it was complete bull. I looked at them afterwards, not even seepage on the pan gasket- bushings and mounts were fine.
