I have been trying to get this damn duplicolor rubberized under coat to stick and I dont know why it isint, can somone give me the direction on how to do it right and maybe what have they used in the past that has actually worked for them
Like xcm said, we don't know what you're working on. If it's not sticking its because you didn't do a good prep job. Nothing will hold if you didn't thoroughly clean the surface with degreaser, scuff, etc.
I am using the duplicolor under coating rubberized, and you are probably right i didnt prep so good, but this isint the only problem i have had before with this type of stuff, a friend of mine and i sanded my bumper down and even sprayed it with some kind of adhesive bonding coat and the paint still chipped, that was the duplicolor bed liner

You can't mix other spray on products together. Clean it off, scuff the surface with sand paper, and rub alcohol on the surface. Should work better for ya...
Well its all in prep as we've all mentioned. Get some coarse grit paper scuff it up, degreaser, soap water, etc. Clean it up real well beforehand, and be aware of the weather when you're doing this, it doesn't help if it's cold as hell and raining. Pick a decent day with the sun out.
You have to let it fully dry also, don't go spraying and drive her the next morning. I'd give it at least a good 48hrs to fully hold up.
I don't know about the Dupli color, but whatever NAPA sells in the rubberized undercoat isn't nearly as durable as the same brand of bedliner. The bedliner takes several days to get good and hard. I waited a week to mount my bumper and there was a huge difference in the hardness of the coating versus the next day.
i did my bumpers and hitch in duplicolor bedliner. i really ruffed up the surface and then i used almost a whole gallon of mineral spirits to wipe them clean. as my dad says if you touch it and there is any residue on your fingers, you failed.
I noticed you're in Alaska. Kinda cold this time of year. Unless you're in a heated garage with the temp above sixty degrees, it won't stick. I did my rockers over the summer and it came out great, very durable. I did a skid plate a couple weeks ago when the temp was in the thirties and it just flakes off. Stick to the directions on the can about temps. The Duplicolor bedliner is otherwise a great product.
