why can i only post in this section and not in the tech form

Look at your signature: it spells out the problem
So, did you use a working email address? If so, did you get a confirmation email? If not, do you have some sort of filtering software installed? If so look in there and see if the filter didn't block the automated reply.

I have the same message and I did get my confirmation email, confirmed and got a welcome email. I can log on but still get this Bad email addy thing under my name when I post.
