Who was that at the Airforce vs. Navy game Saturday....?

ColoradoRaptor

Headbanging Hillbilly
I was part of the security detail for the game and was posted at gate 5 just between lots 3 & 4. I saw a lifted XJ cross between the two lots, it was white with atleast 6 inches of lift, full width axles I think....and 35's....not too sure what year maybe 97+. I was a ways away and only caught it out of the corner of my eye as I was opening the gate for some cadets.

Might have been mine? I was there as a Medical response for the fire department. But my jeep doesn't have 6" of lift..

Not you Noob!! This XJ was lifted like mine!

Might have been mine. I cruised through the parking lot about 1015-1030ish headed north from the south end to set up for tailgating. I've got a 91 though. Fenders chopped pretty good on it?

Yup that would be about the right time! Just caught a glimpse of ya as you crossed. If your rig is white, lifted about 6" or so with what looked like full width axles that would be you. Was not to sure about year as you were roughly 75-100 yards away from my post. Oh and the fenders were cropped good! Nice rig from what I could see!!
I was one of those Navy Master at Arms in the old school BDU's you probably saw wondering around. :patriot:

post a pic, that will solve this

hmmm...still working on posting the picture thing...It's got stock axles and gears pushin 35's. Ya ya, i know, bad juju. Havn't blown anything up yet but I'm building a Ford 9 and HP44 to go under it...should be about three weeks? let me work on the picture thing. Any pointers? :-)

Here you go. Took me a while to figure this thing out but i finally got it. I originally had the pictures on picasa but those don't work?? Anyone else tried hosting from that site with any luck?

On another note, if any of y'all will be up at any more of the AF games let me know, I'm a cadet up there and you're more than welcome to run over to the tailgate and grab some food, we usually put on quite a good showing of food.

I took the family over for the Navy game last week, we'll call ya next time for some grub!

I work the games often as our security unit works along side the airforce security unit. I would not be allowed to leave my post for grub but if you were so inclined to find a really tall Navy Master at Arms 2ed Class with the last name Akens he would very much like some good eats!! :patriot:

Oh that would be the Heep I saw but with doors! Nice Rig!!:peace:

Kittrell, yup I'm a Skyraider, not hard body anymore. Animalistic Skyraiders is the new name since they brought them back. If you don't mind me asking...how'd you know?

Raptor, what gate do you usually work at? You said you were letting in cadets last time so I'm gonna go ahead and assume you work at the north end-ish? Or does it vary from game to game?

PS Thanks for the compliments...still a work in progress though

I was at the gate that is in between lots 3 & 4 right next to handicap parking, security calls it Wiskey 5. It is the one all the buses come through. My posts vary from game to game, for the Utah game I was on the field. There is tunnel road but I have not worked those gates yet, only set up perimeter as the players came through.

Your welcome, like I said caught your rig comming across the road between lots 3 & 4 headed north towards cadet tailgate and was impressed even from a distance!! Maybe sometime we can hit some good trails together, my Club goes out several times a year!!

I am a very resourceful person............;)

I HATE that answer...haha :smsoap::D
Raptor, I'd love to get out on some trails. I've been having some trouble getting friends at school to come out and wheel, but like I mentioned earlier, nothing too serious for another month maybe? Axle's should (fingers crossed) be built this weekend then marked off for brackets, perches, etc. So in a month I should have it "fully" built....again, this is the ideal situation, but I think we all know how working on jeeps goes.
