I am. If you haven't guessed, my name is Josh. I am running for the Board of Directors position of Recorder. First, a little bit about myself and how I got into Jeeps and more specifically, XJs.

I'm 26 years old. I am an ASE Certified mechanic working for a Cadillac/GMC dealer. I am from Indiana and consider myself Hoosier through and through. I now reside in Green Bay, WI and I still root for the Colts. I am a new father of a beautiful little boy, Harrison Jakeb, and I am absolutely infatuated with him.

I got into Jeeps through my best friend, Brad (GoSlowGetStuck) after he bought his first couple Jeeps and took me wheeling with him on my birthday in Jan. 09. Before February was over, I had purchased my own XJ and taken it off-road within 36 hours of receiving title in hand and attended my first WinterFest less than a month later. You can say my addiction began immediately.

I have been, what I consider, very active among the Midwest chapter. I have been on the WinterFest Staph 2 out of the 3 years I have attended; WF Oh-10 and WF '11. I have attended a handful of our clean-ups at Redbird SRA and gone to multiple other social, MWC based functions. By now, most active people in the MWC know me and I believe I have a rapport with other members that has developed into what I hope will be lifetime friendships.

My life is where it is today because of Jeeps. And I am very proud and happy to be where I am. If it weren't for Jeeps, I never would have met the woman I love (Mega-Megz) and been given the greatest gift God has ever given me, our son.

As a member of your Board of Directors, I will do everything that I am capable of to maintain the MWC as the group of like-minded, albeit crazy, people I have come to love. Though, I understand that some changes are necessary, I would make it one of my top priorities in any decision making to not fix what ain't broke.

I will be honest and say this is my first opportunity to be on your Board of Directors and I am very eager to take my club participation to the next level. Now comes the time for your participation. Shoot at me what you will and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Good luck to you Buddy!

Josh is the type of person we need in the decision making portion of this group. He is energetic, willing to step in and help, and has a genuine concern for the direction of the MWC. His youth will bring a view to the BOD that is needed to help represent the ever growing whippersnaper population here.

I spoke to Josh a couple weeks ago on the phone and I believe he is ready to help lead us.

Be sure to put aside the fact that he wears dead animals on his head.

I have a question for all those running for an elected position on the MWC BOD:

With the MWC being one, if not the, most fiscally sound chapters of NAXJA, there is a decent amount of chapter funds that sit idle through the majority of the year. Now granted some of those funds are needed to put deposits in place for Winterfest or prepaying for shirts, hats, stickers, and available for matching funds programs from National, but the remainder of the funds are rarely tapped into. What are your thoughts of using some of those additional funds to "sponsor" a few "mini non-official" events split up across the chapter due to our overall size and locals? These funds could be used to help with food, firewood, minor prizes in the event of a drawing or raffle setting etc.

This was something I struggled with as the President. I wanted to give more back to the Chapter and these funds are the Chapters funds, belonging to the Chapters members....so why not come up with a way to "spread the wealth"?

Please discuss.

As a recorder, what are your thoughts on giving a monthly or bimonthly update on what is going on in the BOD meetings and chapter funds?

Kinda on the same page as tyler, how do you feel about chapter money going to non wheeling events like brewfest/piggig for food donations?

hell, it's the only reason I considered voting for him. He's in my phone as "rabbit hat"

a serious note though.

I would like to see some more reports on BOD meetings/minutes.
something in a pdf or some such.

I can help getting you setup with the PDF software if you're willing to do it.

@ Tyler & Rewster: I think that is a great idea. It seems that most of our get togethers do not involve wheeling, which as we know isn't the reason we get together in the first place, but all of those "events" are paid for easily with the volunteering of goods. Usually awesome food and homebrew or donations as in year's past Pig Gigs. I hate to answer a question with a question, but why would these events be non-official? Is non-official the lingo for no-pay events? For whatever reason they are called that, it is a great idea. I know that I miss most of you guys all year waiting for March. Any reason to meet up for social purposes is a good reason. Having it announced and chapter backed with monetary assistance and possible raffle prizes is only icing on the cake.

@ Rewster: I don't see any problem with keeping the chapter informed as to what topics are being discussed. I would be willing to work with Nate and do a PDF files or something along those lines to keep it organized and tangible across the board. The one thing that comes to mind is how I have never known what the Board of Directors talks about. So I don't know what topics have needed to be under wraps and maintained by the Board and solely the board. I think there is a reason the BOD forum is only for the BOD, but I also agree with keeping everyone up to date on a need to know basis. Along the need to know basis, I think it would only be necessary to update the with a PDF if something has actually been discussed in a meeting setting. Otherwise, I wouldn't want to send out the same file for 4 months in a row.

@ Brian: I think a second annual sanctioned event would be fantastic...if we were able to get participation. I know it's difficult for us to get to WinterFest each year for everyone being so far apart and what not and people have to physically make it a priority with work, family, etc. I would anticipate a much smaller event for the second, but would be willing to look at the pros and cons and put it into consideration.

If elected, will you pursue having MWC logos embroidered on Rabbit hats? I mean how can I compete against that?

I will not. I'm banking on being the only MWCer with a rabbit hat and I will not embroider a logo on the hat. I think the logo and the hat are better left equal but separate.

nice insight on the split powers of the logo and Rabbit Hat....it kind of falls into the cheese and bacon categories...everyone knows they are both great and one simply just does not compare them to each other....it is like an unwritten law. I like where your head is at.....in a Rabbit Hat.

Cheeseman-OUT!

I just wanted to remind everyone to vote while getting a shameless plug in for myself. Remember that this is YOUR club that I would be serving. With the fact of the matter being that I would be held accountable to everyone, the best interest of the club will always be kept in mind. As I hope that you keep me in mind.

seeing as how I have not voted yet..I have a serious question I am wanting to know your thoughts on:

If Sir Mix-A-Lot and Colt Ford got into a bar fight, who do you honestly think would win, and why? Please answer in short story form with proper grammer and punctuation.

Thanks,
Chz

I was unaware of Colt Ford was until you posed this question. I had to Google him. And just from the very few seconds I looked at the results I can easily give him my vote for winning a bar fight with Sir Mix-a-Lot. First off, look at the guy. He reminds me a little of Jason Birkes. He's a burly looking guy that frankly I wouldn't even want to get into a fight with. Secondly, he more than likely drinks PBR. Sir Mix-a-Lot probably drinks Hennesey which would render him fairly useless while the PBR would give Colt Superman-like indestructiveness (read: courage and drunk strength) that would make him easily victorious over the former rap star.

Now as those points do have some validity to them, did you take into consideration that Sir Mix-A-Lot may be wearing his ever so famous oversized fur coat that could help shield him from a beating from Ford? As Ford may be a young buck with some size, Mix-A-Lot may have the power of some platnium selling rhymes that could help fend off the passive/aggressive Ford. There is also a possibility that Mix-A-Lot may have to resort to some "fat booty ho's" as back up...something that Ford has not quite acheived at his current level. Now, Ford has the fresh "Hick-Hop" rhymes on his side and some all star cameos in his music and videos...so he is still a force to be reckoned with...and he sings about Waffle House too...I am torn. I will continue to ponder this a bit more.

I thank you for your time, attention and consideration to this question.

Regards,
Professor Chz

Cheeseboy, you're a dork, which is why we are such good friends.

I personally support Josh for this position, I feel he has the skills needed to benefit the club.

I feel like the rest of the candidates do as well. :D

This whole thing made me :roflmao:

And I appreciate this. I love my NAXJA family and do not take any of our concerns or actions lightheartedly. As much as we are a social club with a wheeling/bacon/cheese/beer (well, not beer) problem, we do have an agenda to keep our sport around as long as possible. Not to mention keeping the rotten apples from tarnishing our efforts.
